When he is not working on his personal projects, he is a freelance graphic designer and art director in the Netherlands for clients such as Canon. In his most recent personal series, the M-Red Collection and the M-Recollection, he explores the complicated themes of love, relationships, consciousness, and choice.

Each piece in the M-Series is carefully made on museum grade cotton paper known as, Rag Photographique, mounted on Dibond aluminum composite panel, and then placed behind a protective layer of Diasec. These materials are intentionally chosen by WOL75 for their high quality, durability, and ability to provide protection from air pollution and ultraviolet radiation, “Dibond is one of those great materials – there’s this strength and it doesn’t bend.”

Between the fantasy landscapes of Bosch and the dark, quirky characters of Burton – the M-Series seems to reside somewhere between the two.

In his quest in life, WOL75 has set out to explore the mental and physical DNA that makes a person take their coffee a certain way, choose a certain style of music, or fall in love. It’s WOL75’s never-ending search for purpose and meaning that has led the artist to create his collages. The process may begin with digital imagery created in Photoshop, evolve into photomontages, and then placed over hand drawn sketches on paper. The images combine human, animal and organic forms to create a layered effect. Sometimes a project is left alone as long as two or three years – only to be picked up again when inspiration strikes.

In this series the artist works to discover what makes one relationship stronger than another. The red in the paintings represent the visceral experience of love felt in the body.

With over a decade working as a professional artist, WOL75 can attest to the use of high-grade materials for his artwork. Dibond aluminum sandwich panels are incredibly durable and lightweight for indoor and outdoor application. While the work is better experienced as street art versus a gallery, the materials that go into each piece are meticulously chosen so the art is always museum ready.
