In a recent blog article by LexJet, the team discusses a project they completed with Louisville, Kentucky print company, Spectra Imaging. The owners of Spectra, Brian and Leslie Rogers, have the self-made American success story. The duo started their print company in 2006 and used their home garage to run the business.

Now, with a decade’s worth of success the company has moved to a large print facility and their previously workable garage was converted back to its original purpose.

Their garage now houses their prized BMW and the duo utilized their decades of print experience to transform its home into something uniquely special. For this, they utilized a wide variety of LexJet’s inkjet media and 3A’s Gatorfoam board as the printable substrate.

The team at LexJet describe, “Rogers went all out, wrapping the walls in faux brick with Photo Tex from LexJet, printing BMW photos on LexJet 8 Mil Production Gloss Photo Paper, laminated with D&K 6 Mil UV Textured Vinyl PSA and applied to 1’ Gatorboard with LexJet GraphicMount White Adhesive. There are 1” cleats on the back of the panels that attach to the wall.”

Additionally, semi-permanent floor graphics were applied using a long-lasting vinyl material.

The brick graphics give the appearance of a rustic garage with the juxtaposition of the black flooring allowing the graphics to stand out further. As LexJet further explains, “The brick graphics essentially frame the garage, complementing and contrasting for a blend that is rugged, classic and classy. Rogers created one large image, cropped each panel at about 50 inches wide, printed them individually and applied them in order so they lined up.”

With over 30 years in the industry, Gator heavy-duty foam board is comprised of extruded polystyrene foam bonded between two layers of wood-fiber veneer. Made in the US, Gator is dent and scratch resistant earning it an excellent reputation as a substrate.
